I watched the twitter twitter story about the Caltrain by Ravi Pina. Pina finds it very frustrating not knowing why there is a train delay and when it will arrive if late, so he wanted to find a way for people to communicate with each other so that they can get updates and other info on the trains.

Pina thought it would be a great idea to create a Caltrain twitter account that gives followers real time updates on whats happening. Users on the train or standing on the platforms can send an email to Caltrain on whats going on and it gets sent over to twitter. over 90k people follow the account. There is also a backup site at Caltrain.com

 

I am on the Northland lacrosse team and I think we could use twitter to live tweet updates on games and post upcoming events. Being that we have only three home games, people from Northland aren’t going to be going to the away games, but if they want to know what the score is, having a twitter account tweeting about it would solve that.

Anyone can be effected by social change, theres a bigger chance of being effected by social change if you are in certain social groups and if you have certain views on something.

Social media is a place where a majority people spend a lot of their time so it influences a lot of people create views on things.

It can be to some extent, Twitter may be a great way to see news faster, but it may not be reliable.

Everyone is connected and it can help people with the same views towards something come together and argue together.

It negatively impacts peoples real life social skills, people want to sit behind a screen and interact online and not in person.

people with a bigger social spotlight can influence more people than people that don’t have a bigger name when talking about a subject

A majority of our youth have cell phones or other devices that allow them to have access to social media and they definitely have

There is all kinds of political propaganda on social media sites that are very biased for the politician that posts it. People also argue a lot about politics on social media and it can get out of hand sometimes.

It is really nice having access to just about anything and everything, whether it be family related, politics, or other things you support.
